Who is 3 Minutes to Live?

Just think about what you would care about if you found out you only had 3 minutes to live. Would you care about keeping up with the Jones’? Would you care about if you were wearing the latest style? Would you care about your popularity status? Your fancy car? Your big screen TV? No, you probably would be thinking about the things that really matter in life; Family, friends and what kind of life you have lived up to this point.

That is what drives “3 Minutes to live” life is short and nothing goes unnoticed. After forming in 2004 Brian (vocals), Marlon (guitar), Rickey (bass), Rodger (drums) and Chris (guitar) started writing catchy songs with a heavy edge, blurring the lines between styles and genre’s not allowing themselves to be painted into a corner artistically. The band went through a growing period and gained in popularity to the extent of being nominated in the “Best Metal Band” category in 2005 by 102.9 the BUZZ they then began recording their debut album and by 2006 was almost ready to release it. Then the band had to take a long hiatus to take care of family business.

They returned in 2009 and released their debut album, Ultimatum, which has gained favorable reviews throughout the Nashville music community and abroad. Mixing metal and rock with a taste of southern style and a few modern influences, it might be difficult to classify their sound and yet they never fail to surprise and entertain with catchy choruses and grooves that almost take on a life of their own.

Active within the community to lend a helping hand and raise awareness for organizations and causes, 3 Minutes to Live knows that there are things bigger and more important than fame and fortune. Holding to a “come as you are” attitude, 3 Minutes to Live is pure energy and no image, they are who they are and that’s what you get. Catch them while you can, because time is fleeting and you never know when you might find yourself with only 3 minutes to live.

What is the “Stolen” Project?

After learning about the atrocities of the human trafficking and sex trade, 3 Minutes to Live decided they wanted to do something to fight this growing problem. They penned the song

Stolen, which touches on the true story of a young girl kidnapped and forced into a life of drugs, violence, and prostitution. All proceeds earned through the download of the song go directly to the Tennessee chapter of End Slavery.

We have partnered with Derri Smith, director of the local Tennessee chapter of End Slavery. Derri has been highly instrumental in making this project happen.  All donations collected by this project will be handled by the Tennessee chapter.
